With the visit of WISTA Uruguay, the event was held to share experiences, discuss common challenges and continue promoting the development of women in the maritime-port sector.

On August 22 and 23, WISTA Argentina organized the Encuentro Rioplatense in Buenos Aires, with the participation of WISTA Uruguay, a key event that brought together professionals and leaders of the maritime-port sector from both countries. This meeting was conceived as a space for the exchange of ideas and collaboration to further promote the development of women in the sector.

The conference included various talks with the participation of important entities such as the Administrative Commission of the Río de la Plata (CARP) and the Administrative Commission of the Uruguay River (CARU), under the slogan “The rivers that unite us”. In turn, members of WISTA Argentina spoke on key issues for a transformation towards a more sustainable, connected and resilient maritime transport.

Among the participating members of WISTA Argentina were the Vice President and the Human Resources Manager of Servi Rio, who actively participated in the discussions and activities of the event.

A highlight of the meeting was the visit to the icebreaker ARA Almirante Irízar, where the participants were able to learn about the capabilities of this essential vessel for Argentine Antarctic missions.

WISTA, with its continuous efforts to promote the development and integration of women in the sector, continues to be a fundamental pillar in building a more inclusive maritime-port industry. From participation in events of this scale to the creation of support networks among its members, WISTA continues to strengthen the role of women in all areas of the industry.
